The 2013 BAGNET FESTIVAL  was a two-day  festival. Now on its 4th year, the festival featured various presentations such as Float Parade, Sreet Dance competition and Dance show down. It showcased the rich cultural heritage of historic Narvacan town established by the Spanish colonizers in 1576.

To maximize the promotion of the festival, participants in the float parade were invited, some contingents came from different sectors, municipalities, and other entities. LGU and tourism stakeholders presented their floats and won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places as judged.

The festivities attracted visitors and tourists from here and abroad as the eight kilometer route negotiated during the parade was filled with people from all walks of life. Television station GMA 7 Kapuso brought in their local stars to grace the occasion and this further enthralled the people.

All local government officials headed by the local chief executive, barangay officials, employees of national government agencies stationed in Narvacan, members of the different non-governmental organizations participated in the float parade which ended up at the tourism zone at Barangay Bulanos.  The winners were awarded of their prizes with the National Tobacco Administration float garnered first place.

In recognition to the active participation of the stakeholders, guests and participants, LGU Narvacan  tendered a dinner for them.

On the other hand, the colorful costumes, music and choreography made the street dance more magnificent. Participants/contingent stopped in front of the judges, who were strategically stationed in three sections of the dance route, for the evaluation before they proceeded to the Narvacan Mall for the finale act and where the local officials of Narvacan and the various guests awaited.

The dance showdown started at 6:30 in the evening with the local participants performing first followed by the invited contingents. The performance lasted until past 12 midnight. Prizes to the different categories were awarded afterwards.

The 2013 Bagnet Festival was a total success, improved a lot, thanks to the all out support of the different agencies to the local government unit of Narvacan.

The 5th Bagnet Festival this 2014 will be much more improved!
